Carbon Credits Expert
I believe that climate action should create value not only for the environment but also for the communities that live closest to it. Throughout my work, I have championed nature-based solutions that restore ecosystems while creating sustainable livelihoods for rural households. By integrating carbon finance with agriculture, forestry and community enterprise, I have worked to demonstrate that environmental conservation and economic development can—and should—advance together.
Through Akili Group, I have led initiatives that promote afforestation, reforestation and sustainable land management while helping communities participate in emerging carbon markets. Projects such as Misitu have mobilized farmers to restore degraded landscapes, while other initiatives have expanded access to cleaner cooking technologies that reduce emissions, improve household health and protect natural forests. These programmes are designed to generate measurable environmental benefits while creating lasting economic opportunities for the people who steward the land every day.
As carbon markets continue to evolve, I see them as more than a mechanism for offsetting emissions—they are an opportunity to channel investment into communities that are already safeguarding nature. My commitment is to ensure that climate finance delivers real, transparent and lasting impact by empowering local people to become active partners in environmental restoration. By connecting conservation with enterprise, I continue to advocate for a future where healthy ecosystems, resilient communities and sustainable economic growth reinforce one another.
